Oldie but Goody 1: WWD

*I started my career interning then freelancing for WWD and W. This is the first feature article I published in a global paper. I still get a thrill looking at it!

Oldie but Goody 2: Paper Magazine

*I interviewed Rick Owens a few years before he was tapped to helm Revillon and his eponymous ship really took off for Paper Magazine. He and his wife, Michelle Lamy, were gracious and lovely and answered way too many questions from a young reporter (me) who had barely earned any stripes. If I remember correctly, we had the interview at Lamy's L.A. restaurant at the time, Les Deux Cafés, and she brought out a delicious plate of antipasto and white wine. Those were days!

Style Section LA: Street Savvy

Since it's inception in 2009, I've been a Senior Writer for Style Section LA, a super cool site focusing on Socal style, helmed by my old editor and dear friend Emili Vesilind and the cutest redhead in Hollywood, Erin Weinger. If SSLA isn't in your daily web crawl, it should be. Do it. Now. You'll thank me.

The above article is a piece I wrote and shot photos for, on the debut door-opening of MNWKA, an eastside street style shop for dudes (and ladies looking for borrowed-from-the-boys rad printed tees, Japanese selvedge denim and the cutest key toppers in town). Racked LA: Bits & Pieces

*in the fall of 2010 - the spring of 2011, I was a regular contributor to Racked LA. My duties: aggragate the best bits from the web, as well as a little reporting and some style party coverage. As a journalist, sometimes you have to subvert your sense of humor. At Racked LA, I was encouraged to be as sardonic and witty as I wanted to be. It was a fun gig. Signature LA: Amanda Peet Cover Story

*One of my very first interviews ever was Amanda Peet for WWD, at the premiere of "Saving Silverman." Peet wore Prada and was the epitome of polite as I fumbled through the interview. Ten + years later, I interviewed Peet again; this time for Signature LA (now defunct). This time, Peet was 7 months pregnant, sheathed in a cozy chic APC mariniére, and as gracious and humble as I remember. As for me, have I grown as a reporter? You be the judge. Click the jpgs above the read the story in full.

Hollywood Life: A Small Sampling 1

In 2009 - 2010, I was the style blogger for Hollywood Life. My duties: blog twice daily about local to global fashion stories. Here's a smattering of clips. Click on any of the jpgs to read the pieces in full.
